This Privacy Policy explains how SpeakMetry ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register.

Profile information: Target band score and exam date if you choose to provide them.

Payment information: We do not store your card details. Payments are processed by Paddle.com. We receive only transaction confirmation and subscription status from Paddle.

Exam session data: Audio recordings of your speaking sessions, transcripts of conversations with the AI examiner, and band scores and feedback reports generated after each session.

Usage data: Pages visited, features used, session timestamps, and browser/device information collected automatically.

2. How we use your information
  • To provide and operate the Service.
  • To score your speaking sessions and generate feedback reports.
  • To manage your subscription and send billing-related emails.
  • To send product updates and exam reminders if you have opted in.
  • To improve our AI models and scoring accuracy using anonymised data only.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and account abuse.
3. Audio data

Audio recordings of your exam sessions are used solely to generate your feedback report. We do not use your voice recordings for any purpose other than processing your exam session.

Recordings are stored securely and are accessible only to you via your results page.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Paddle: for payment processing and subscription management.
  • OpenAI: for real-time AI examination and scoring. Audio and transcript data is transmitted to OpenAI during your session under their data processing terms.
  • Supabase: for database and authentication infrastructure.
  • Vercel: for hosting.
5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.

Exam session data including transcripts and scores is retained for 12 months after the session date.

You may request deletion of your data at any time.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To make a request contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on all database tables, and access controls.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service.
