    Good to know

What Part 3 is looking for

Part 3 moves from you to the world: why people do things, how things are changing, what should happen. A strong answer gives a view, explains it, supports it with an example or a comparison, and often concedes a point (“that said, it depends on…”). An answer that stays on your own life, or stops after one sentence, holds the band down however accurate it is.

    Using the improved answer

The improved version keeps your ideas and shows the language that develops them: linking, hedging and more precise words. The highlighted words are ones you did not use. Read it aloud once, then answer the same question again without looking.

    Questions

How long should a Part 3 answer be?
About 35 to 70 seconds. The bar under the mic shows that range while you speak.
    Is the band accurate?
It is a calibrated practice estimate from one answer, marked as whole bands per criterion and averaged with the test's own rounding. It is not an official score.
    Is my recording saved?
No. It is used once for the feedback and not stored.
Can I answer my own question?
Yes. Choose “Your own”, type the question and answer it out loud.
