What this tool does
The AI Summarizer condenses any text — articles, chapters, reports, notes — into a faithful summary at your chosen length: short (2–3 sentences), medium (one paragraph), or detailed (key points plus a paragraph). It preserves crucial numbers and names, adds no opinions, and includes nothing that isn't in the source.

Faithfulness is the whole product
A summarizer earns trust by what it refuses to do: no editorializing, no “improving” the argument, no filling gaps with plausible-sounding additions. This one is constrained to the source — key figures and names survive, hedges stay hedged (“may reduce” never becomes “reduces”), and if the original is inconclusive, the summary says so. A summary you have to verify against the source has negative value.
Choosing the right length
Length is a function of what you'll do next. Deciding whether to read something: short. Capturing an article you won't revisit: medium. Building study notes or briefing someone else: detailed, because the bullet points preserve the structure you'll need to reconstruct the argument later. When in doubt, medium — you can always re-run at another length; each run costs one from your free daily allowance.

How long can the input be?
Up to about 10,000 characters (roughly 1,500–2,000 words) per run. For longer documents, summarize by section and then — a genuinely effective trick — paste the section summaries back in for a summary of summaries.
Does it work on non-English text?
It handles major languages, summarizing in the language of the source. To read a foreign text in English, run it through the Translator first, then summarize — two clean steps beat one muddled one.
Will it keep statistics and names accurate?
It's explicitly instructed to preserve crucial numbers, names, and dates. For anything high-stakes, verify figures against the source — that discipline applies to every AI summary, including good ones.
