Text Improver

There's a level above “correct”: precise, concise, natural. This tool lifts your text one honest level and shows its work so the level becomes yours.

What this tool does

The Text Improver upgrades your writing one clear level — stronger word choices, tighter sentences, better flow — while keeping your meaning and roughly your length. Every result lists the upgrades as original → improved with the reason (precision, concision, collocation, flow), and ends with the single habit from the edits most worth building.

How to use the Text Improver

  1. 1Paste text that's correct but flat — the improver isn't a grammar fixer.
  2. 2Click “Improve my text” and read the upgrade list before the improved version.
  3. 3Find the pattern in the upgrades: it's usually one habit (weak verbs, filler, wrong collocations) appearing five ways.
  4. 4Apply that habit consciously in your next piece, then run it again and watch the upgrade list shrink.

What “one level up” actually means

Improvement here is specific: vague verbs get precise ones (“get better” → “improve”, “look at” → “examine”), filler dies (“in order to” → “to”, “due to the fact that” → “because”), weak collocations become natural ones (“make research” → “conduct research”), and flabby structures tighten (“It is important to note that X” → “Notably, X”). What it deliberately isn't: thesaurus inflation. Text that sounds like it swallowed a vocabulary list scores worse in IELTS and reads worse everywhere.

The Lexical Resource connection

IELTS Band 7 Lexical Resource requires vocabulary used “with some flexibility and precision”, and Band 8 “skilfully”. The gap between Band 6 and Band 7 writing is rarely rare words — it's precise common ones and natural collocation, which is exactly the layer this tool operates on. The “one habit to build” line at the end of each result is designed to convert a single improved text into a durable band-level change.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Grammar Corrector?

The corrector fixes what's wrong; the improver upgrades what's merely adequate. Correct-but-flat text passes the corrector untouched — that's precisely the text the improver exists for. Run correction first, improvement second.

Will it make my writing sound like AI wrote it?

The instruction is explicit: improved text should still sound like a person, at roughly your length, with your meaning. The change list keeps it honest — you can see and veto every edit.

Should IELTS candidates use improved text as practice essays?

No — study the upgrade list, then write fresh. Submitting improved text to the Task 2 Checker tells you the tool's band, not yours. The improver's value is showing you your next level; the checker's value is measuring your current one honestly.

What's the input limit?

Up to 5,000 characters per run — an essay or a long email. Each run uses one from the free daily allowance; a free account or Premium Pass raises the daily ceiling.
